Oh hey look its updated =O

Reason: Too bored...Procrastination and general inactivity.

WELL, anyway.........

Life's been good since my last update. However, I've finally realised just how dangerous working at Pizza King can be...

1) You get fat.
2) You get paper cuts almost every shift. (Or could be just my noobness)
3) You get fat.
4) You get flamed at from some jackass customer. Lowers self esteem and the urge to slap him/her is overwhelming.
5) Your brain gets used to falling asleep during work, which is probably not a good habit for the future.
6) You get fat.
7) Not surprisingly, the oven becomes your best friend during winter.
8) You get too friendly with the boss, again not a good habit for the future.
9) You burn your hand against the oven.
10) Did I mention you get fat?

Anyway, wanna watch G.I. Joe =O and I havent been to the city in AGES =(
MMM...cbb typing anymore. So, GOODBYE FOR THE NEXT MONTH OR SO =D

An Epiphany

Days are too short.

Especially on weekends and holidays.
Think about it.
Wake up around 10.
Lie in bed until 11.
Eat.
Stuff around.
And then its night time already.
And the next day comes.
Bringing with it a continuation of the monotony of life.

Life is quite pointless =S

Quotes of the Week

1) *Ruby and I walk down the corridor in school and sees Mr Southon (year 8 maths extension teacher) also walking down the corridor. He was smiling, obviously very happy.)

Ruby: I bet he figured out how to make Rurple jump.

Note: To get the joke, you must have joined year 8 maths extension class. Otherwise, it's...nothing.

2) *At Work:*
Melanie: Can I take a pizza home?
James: Yea sure. Is it for Tim?
Melanie: Nah.
James: Well he came in and took a can of drink without working. What does he think this is?Charity?

3) *During Lunch*
Hannah: You should name your kids after each month of the year.
Angela: Yea like January, February....
Hannah: So you need to time when you do it? Like, omigosh it's February. *Makes a weird sound*

4) *During Lunch*
Melanie: You know, Phillipine language is weird. It's like a mix of random languages.
June: Huh?
Melanie: Yea, like one man had sex with different races.

Random

Woke up late today.
Late as in 9am. When school starts.
Sigh...alarms don't work for me...sometimes
I get so used to the alarm sound that when it sounds, my subconscious tells my body to turn it off and not actually wake me up. I vaguely remember turning it off, but obviously must have went straight back to sleep. ><

Anyway... it's a special day for:
OLIVER

My awesome housemate=)
Have a great one.

Fairytales

Ok so today in English, our teacher was talking about short stories- dominant and resistant reading. To give a heads up, dominant reading is when you read a text, you interpret it like the majority of others who read the text.

Say, if you read Cinderella, most people would just read it as a girl who has been mistreated, dances with the prince, bla bla bla, she ends up marrying him and everything goes happily ever after. That is dominant reading (oh God, this post is ending up differently to what I intended).

But you get some random who reads Cinderella and goes: Cinderella's a scheming slut and the prince is perverted or something. (Not the best interpretation but anyway...). That is resistant reading: You interpret a text in a way that opposes dominant reading.

Anyway, moving on. Some people say that fairytales are just stories for children. That is true, but it leads children to believe in things that sadly, just doesn't exist in this world. 'Happily ever after' is classic. E.g. Red Riding Hood: The hunter just somehow appears in front of the house to save the day. E.g. Cinderella: A fairy godmother exists. Et cetera. For all you know, the hunter was stalking the grandma, and the wolf is actually on the good side. The fairy godmother is evil, Cinderella is in fact a scheming woman who wants fame and fortune.

Dominant reading interprets the text as it is written, that everything is what the text says. Cinderella is a poor, slaving girl who deserves the prince, for example. But after a few weeks in English class, I've realised that that is unrealistic and that fairytales are evilllllll....

Nah, just that fairytales just dont seem the same to me anymore. I read it and go wtf...Blame English. Now I'm like: "The prince is a boy that goes for hot chicks." The teacher brought up a good point: "The prince didn't even recognise Cinderella in her rags." I was like: "Ohhh yeaaa... "

Fairytales are for children, and when they are mature enough, they should realise that it is all fake, the world is unfair, life is unfair, there is no happily ever after, and we all die in the end. I conclude that literature, at least not children's literature is not an accurate representation of reality. I would start on 'what is reality' but I cant be bothered. On that optimistic note, I end this post.

Melanie: *tries to chuck the pen lid on the table*
*Pen lid slides off and falls on the floor again*

Back

Ok guys. Im back. *silence*

Anyway....Chinese New Year in Kuching was....not so great. I mean, the food was great and all (hey its free ok?) but it was three days wasted sitting in ppl's houses =.= Other than that, it was shop shop shop and eat eat eat eat eat, and did i mention eat? Yea...full on binge man =.= (gained __ kilos, shall not disclose such information) Oh yeah, did I mention the 10 hour transit that I had to sit through? It was...bloody...shit.... srsly. I cant believe we survived that...

KL was great (not so our hotel) shop shop shop mostly and walk walk walk basically. The first night in our hotel we saw some lion dances. It wasnt the lame ones where they walk up and down. Some acrobatics going on there, jumping from pole to pole (hmm). It was quite fun to watch actually (tho the fireworks did hurt my ears)

Anywayss...going back to school tomoro (noooo) but seeing friends again (yay :D) Lets hope that 2009 will be awesome.

There we go, ended the 1 month silence. :)

Work

Yesterday New Year's Eve. Did nothing much. But boss was out partying, literally the whole night. So how does one act when you've had 0 hours sleep? (It's true I asked him he was like, I didn't get any sleep) He was stoned, seriously...When you look into his face while talking, his eyes are like out of focused and he was talking about random shit, starting from my future career, something about jumping out of windows to rebel against parents and finally locking himself in the car and leaving me to make pizzas. I swear the last half an hour or so, it was full on, like, 20 pizzas at least. =.=

Ok rant over. Now, so I thought New Years, yeah...not many people gonna order pizza. This was me at 5pm: "Please lemme finish at 8, please lemme finish at 8". 3 hours later: "Please stop ordering, please stop ordering." Yea...

O well, I'm having a cold shower (so freaking hot oh em gee! Cooler's stuffed, getting it fixed in a few days time, but until then, O.M.G.) and sleeping. I promised to take Mishka out this morning for a walk (coz if not I have to wait till 7-8pm to walk or she will melt) I feel sorry for Mish, sigh outside in ohsoveryhot weather. We can't let her in coz she's shedding and fur gets everywhere, and dad gets all pissed. Still, wearing a fur coat in summer isn't exactly fun.

And I shall end my random post. Happy New year's peeps. Don't give up on your new year's goals by February =)
